Conan comes HOME!

After 82 days in the NICU, Conan has finally been discharged to come home to be with his family! We brought him home earlier this afternoon and are loving having him home! The girls were so very excited to be able to touch and hold their brother :)

Conan is now 38 weeks 2 days gestation, weighs 7lbs 13oz, is 19.5 inches long, is off all medications and is absolutely perfect! Shannon is continuing to work on breastfeeding with him and will be meeting with lactation specialists to help with the transition from bottle to breast. In addition to breastfeeding on demand, he will continue to receive 3-4 bottles of Shannon's milk supplemented with a small amount of preemie formula for the additional calories for the next two weeks or so to continue to aid in his weight gain.

Although he is home now, we have a great deal of appointments to attend for Conan in the coming months including developmental screenings with Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapists. We'll will continue to post updates about Conan's progress as a NICU graduate complete with pictures and would love our friends and family to continue to follow along! Thank you again, all of you, for your continued love, support and prayers for our sweet boy. He truly is a miracle!
