Tuesday, June 21

It's been 5 months. In some ways the time seems fairly short, in others, a very long few months. We are so thankful for your prayers and support; what an encouragement on this journey.

Tonight Kellie and Becca will return together to the soccer field for team practice. Their doctors have set limitations, but they can do conditioning and ball skills. They cannot interact with others (or head the ball, of course). Becca has to wear her neck brace still. She is continuing to experience numbness when she bends her neck down. Last week, Becca's doctors found fluid in her spinal cord (at the site of her neck injuries). They've ordered a myelogram: "an x-ray photograph of the spinal cord, following administration of a radiopaque substance into the spinal subarachnoid space." So they will inject dye into her spinal cord to see what is happening, specifically looking in the neck area. Please continue to pray as this team of doctors determines what is going on...plus there's all kinds of medications they are working with/adjusting. Continue to pray for the emotional and physical stress on TC and Becca. Becca is still in physical therapy three times a week.

The girls finished their junior year of high school through the "home and hospital program,"  so they are officially seniors! Yea! The four of us attended a Beth Moore Bible Study last night...Monday nights throughout the summer. Nothing disspells discouragement like the Word and Christian fellowship!

Last week, I took Becca and Kellie to Corona Del Mar for a few days of R and R. Unfortunately,  TC was ill and couldn't go with us - sadness! :(  One morning, the girls and I read these words from a devotional book called Streams in the Desert. Genesis 41:52 "God has made me fruitful in the land of my suffering." The author parallels the rain falling and watering the earth, producing flowers, with the rain of test/trials that come on us and what they produce. " Perhaps you are undergoing some trial and are saying ...it is raining very hard on me and this test seems beyond my power to endure. Disappointments are pouring in...my heart is grieved at the intensity of my suffering...Dear friend, you are completely mistaken. God is not raining rain on you - He is raining blessings. If you will only believe your Father's Word, you will realize that springing up beneath the pounding rain are spiritual flowers...God sees sweet flowers of faith springing up in your life beneath these very trials. You try to escape the pain, yet God sees tender compassion for other sufferers finding birth in your soul Your heart winces at the pain of heavy grief, but God sees the sorrow deepening and enriching your life...it is not raining afflictions on you. It is raining tenderness, love, compassion, patience, and a thousand other flowers and fruits of the belssed Holy Spirit. And they are brnging to your life spiritual enrichment that all the prosperity and ease of this world could never produce in your innermost being."

We hope this encourages you in your walk of faith today! Much loveto you! :)
