Hello Friends, Family, Loved Ones, Fellow Dancers and anyone's life that was touched by the magical Matthew Dickens. We love him tremendously and can't think of a better way to remember Matthew than a Celebration of Life Dance Concert to honor him. All proceeds will go to Fallon Dickens, his beloved daughter, in the hopes of offsetting the costs for his funeral and affairs.
Currently it has been confirmed that the show will be held in the performance space of the Performing Arts Center in Van Nuys (details to follow).
We are currently seeking any video or audio of Matthew from any point in his life. We'd greatly appreciate anything that anyone may be able to provide. All formats are welcome and if in a hard copy we will return it. Seeing as we don't know what we will get, we can't guarantee that everything will be included.
Please like this page and share it with your friends, so all those that knew and loved Matthew may be able to come and celebrate in his great life, light, and love he shared with so many.
Thank you for your prayers, words of comfort and support, and for your donations. We are most appreciative. To give you an update on the funds and the use of them to date:
those of you who donated prior to January 12th, either through the "PostHope" site, or via (Matthew's sister) Carol Barber's email account, based on her misrepresentation that she was authorized to act on behalf of his estate, please be advised that none of those funds have been remitted to our daughter, Fallon. Less than 12 hours after I paid for all necessary expenses to the funeral home for services on behalf of Matthew, the PayPal account was completely depleted by Carol without authorization.
Those funds contributed on the site after January 12th via credit card or personal checks made out to Fallon, were deposited directly into her bank account. It is egregious that donations sent in good faith to be used either to benefit Fallon or cover continuing costs incurred in finalizing Matthew's affairs, were not in fact used for those purposes.
We are again thankful for all the generosity shown in every way on behalf of Matthew.
Q: When and where are the services?
A: Thank you all for your love and support. Friends are planning several memorial services and tributes to Matthew throughout the country, including Baltimore, Los Angeles, and New York. Because of Fallon's commitment to completing her final year of college, she will not be able to attend the various memorials. However, we are planning a memorial in Chicago, when Fallon is on summer break. Please visit this site for further details.
Q: What is the urgency of donations?
A: Donations are needed to support the continuing expenses that are being incurred with finalizing Matthew's affairs. With no insurance coverage, every donation helps.
Q: How do I make donations?
A: Donations via this site on your credit or debit card is the preferred method, as it instantly routes payments directly to Fallon; however, if you would rather mail a check, please make it payable to Fallon Dickens at:
Fallon Dickens, 53 West Jackson Blvd., Suite 309 Chicago, Illinois 60604
Q: I've posted the link and donated; what else can I do?
A: Thank you so very much for your donations, they are truly appreciated. Please understand that personal, individual thank yous will be sent. Please help us continue to spread the word to others. A website banner has been created and posted above. You can add this banner to your own cover photo to help spread the word. If you would like a version specifically made for facebook emailed to you, please email Faleli91@aol.com.
In the afternoon of Tuesday, January 8, 2013, Matthew Dickens, joined his Lord and Saviour's team of Angels in Heaven. Matt is very dear to all of our hearts and his passing is very recent for his friends and family. Detailed information for services are forthcoming.
All donations to this site are routed directly to the care of his loving daughter to use for his services and other financial needs in his honor.
Thank you all for your prayers and donations towards my care. I am
currently praying, hoping and preparing to get out of Southern Maryland
Hospital soon. It feels wonderful to have Fallon right by my side. As of now, it is
somewhat difficult to accept the many phone calls, although I appreciate the intent.
Please feel free to send messages, jokes and love via email and/or texts, and please be understanding that I may only be able to respond to them slowly, as I am
Much Love and God Bless,
