I apologize for the long delay in writing. But no news is good news. My mother continues to gain back strength after chemo and radiation.

She attended graduation at Duke with Jimmie (Bill's and Sally's nephew) in mid May. A few weeks later, she came to Birmingham to celebrate Logan's graduation (grandson). A few weeks later she traveled to Williamsburg for a vacation.

During most of radiation (April/May), my mom worked on decluttering the house and tending to needed repairs. She played bridge, began some simple exercises, and rested. Now that radiation and chemo are over, she is returning to activities she enjoyed before Bill's illness and her cancer. She is finding new interests as well. Overall things are going well. She still needs more rest than before cancer, but she is gradually building up more strength and endurance.

A good life like a good book has several chapters. Keep in touch with Sally to find out what comes next . . .
