This weekend, two perfect storms are hitting both the East Coast and the West Coast of the USA. High winds, tides, rain, mudslides are affecting thousands of people. Also, transportation by air and land is a mess for many families.
It seems that is “one of those days”.
One way or another we have “one of those days” were everything seems to plot against us. Like a conspiracy theory type of situation happens to us from time to time.
We hate those types of days. But life has shown us that they will come, but also, will go away.
What I do when facing difficult times, is to remember “other times”. Yes, those special days that we keep in our minds. Great memories about family, friends, special occasions, trips, events like concerts, restaurants, etc.
In my case, as a pastor and follower of Jesus Christ, I remember His Word. Portions of the Holy Scripture to remember what the Lord wants me to focus on, particularly in very hard times.
I remember other dangerous or complicated moments in my life or my family, and it comes to my mind how God intervene and brought the solution, and then came His peace.
Is good to look in the rear view mirror of or lives from time to time. But without forgetting that we have a extraordinary road ahead of us. New challenges, many more of “those days”. But remember, we’ve been here before. Let’s pray, have faith, wait patiently on the Lord, and learn in the process.
“Those days” don’t last forever. Amen for that!

“And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”
‭‭II Corinthians‬ ‭12:7-10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

The Apostle Paul knew first hand about suffering. And in this instance, he had some sort of physical problem. He asked the Lord to remove it, but the answer was “Grace”. God’s grace is sufficient to carry us thru our most difficult situations.
We don’t know if Paul was ever healed. But we know that he kept preaching until his last breath.
The Lord was with him, and that was assurance enough for this former enemy of Christianity to fulfill his mission to preach salvation thru Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior.

Wow, did not know you were keeping a journal. Terrific idea. Just finished reading it. You are an amazing person and I have never stopped praying for you. God tests us in many ways and some are more trying than others. Never loosing faith is the key to happiness, peace, and ultimately the satisfaction of knowing that you made it and God was always walking beside you. God bless you guys always. Love ya'

Christmas season it’s over in the United States and in Puerto Rico. The decorations go back to the closet or storage.
Now, we face a brand new year with all its possibilities. The certainty of seen God’s provision in so many ways, like we saw last year.
Christmas is about celebrating God’s most precious gift to mankind, His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior!
For the world and culture, Christmas is over, routine will return. But for us who believe, Christmas is all year! With a thankful heart, and a constant sense of awe for what the Lord does for us every day.
Let’s be ready for what He will do in 2018. Let’s continue to pray and trust in His wisdom and power. Let’s get up every morning, with a sincere sense of expectation, like a kid on Christmas morning, to see what gift God has giving us that day.
Press on! Keep moving forward! God is good! Amen.

God has been working in each of us and he has answered our prayers in his perfect way and time. Happy New Year and many blessings to all.

Today I was at the supermarket and bumped into a friend and neighbor, who was with her husband.
This incredible woman is a 13 years cancer warrior. She has an amazing attitude that has been built over the years.
I told her that she is my “poster child” of a cancer survivor. She smiled.
She shared with me a couple of things:
1. Attitude is very essential when battling this condition.
2. She knows that this’s part of a plan by God.
3. That she talks about cancer like if she were talking about a common cold.
4. That she took her cancer as her personal “cross”. No questions asked.
Interesting....

Surprisingly, her husband, a well known lawyer in our hometown, is now battling prostate cancer.
A beautiful couple. Professionals. Now the caretaker needs the care of the patient. Makes you think.
But I saw faith and a great attitude in them. God bless them.
Let’s continue our walk with you my brother. Amén!!

Hi Carlos, I just read your journal and understand your struggle with being private. I am also very private and sometimes struggle with what to tell and not to tell those outside my immediate circle. You are an amazing friend and I know you will follow your heart and decide what you think is best for you and your family. I have no doubt there are many many people who respect love and care deeply for you. Just know you are not alone and we are all here for you and your family though this difficult journey. We will continue to pray for you always... Tammy :)
