Today we celebrated Calla’s 4th birthday! She was so happy and everything had unicorns. It was a happy day for our family! We are grateful to have today because no one is guaranteed to have the next day, we know this well.
The past two weeks have been a bit of a whirlwind. Our basement flooded, a feral cat had kittens in our back yard and we had to trap them and take them to the animal shelter (you can’t make this stuff up), both kids have had end of year school activities, and Amy is still carrying the weight of recovery. In the midst of all of this, we are still standing. We are not as sturdy as we are accustomed to but we aren’t knocked down and we won’t give up.
Amy’s resolve is so admirable. Her strength of spirit to take each day, one at a time, is beautiful! She juggles the challenges of motherhood so gracefully in spite of the fact that she often feels like she just ran a marathon. Her beauty, both inside and out, is on full display. For those that know Amy, you know what I mean because you have experienced this beauty. What a strong and brave woman!
