Yesterday, Annie had her mapping/embolization procedure, and it went very smoothly. She was able to walk out of the hospital, several hours post procedure, and spend the rest of the day sleeping in the sunshine. Thanks to Dr. Lindquist and his fantastic medical team, everything went as planned and her SIRT procedure has now been confirmed for Dec 17th.
Annie is recovering in Denver for the time being, but her heart is in Aspen with her colleagues. Tonight, a group of teachers are participating in the annual Aspen Summit For Life race in Annie's name. They will be spending their Saturday night hiking to the top of Aspen mountain, a 3,000 foot ascent, to support the Chris Klug Foundation in its lifesaving work educating and raising awareness of the importance of organ and tissue donation. Team Annie, raised an impressive amount in support of this incredible cause. We are deeply moved by this gesture, and we are cheering on Team Annie- Go, Go, Go!
