Oh My!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year family and friends,

It has been awhile since my last post. Things seemed to being going well up until Christmas.  Bob has been on steroids which has made him bloat all over. Because of the holidays, there was difficulty in speaking with a doctor. Another side effect of the steroids has been that Bob has regained his voice. Out of habit I keep making his appointments, but have realized he now can schedule his own appointments.

Bob has had his first mammogram and ultra sound of his breasts. Ladies his exam is not like ours. Go figure.

The weather here has been wonderful. However our back stairs can be slippery. I was at PT and Bob decided to take the garbage out side and fell down the stairs. After a day or two I knew he had cracked a rib. Again because of the holiday and Bob refusing to go to the ER it was about a week before we found out that he fractured 2 ribs.

Much has been going on with Bob. I thank goodness am on the mend. However, the other event that has stressed us out is my dad falling at our house on Xmas eve. It wasn't until the following weekend that things hit the fan with my dad. He was in ER released. Reentered the ER and stayed over night. He returned home for a day. The following day he fell a third time and had heart issues. Wev went back to the hospital this time for 5 days. My dad is now in a rehab facility as we look to find 24-7 care for him.

Today I returned to work. It was a pleasant surprise to be allowed to leave at 12:15. I loved it. I went to see my dad, OMG the place is hot, but my sister and I were able to eat lunch with him and organize his room, and fill out paperwork.

I look forward to seeing my kids tomorrow and return life back to normal. Bob is looking into doing classes at OCC and our senior center. Yes the senior center. It is hard to believe that we qualify.

Love to all, Liz

Happy New Year Liz and Bob, glad to hear about the improvements despite the setbacks. I hope that your Dad will make a full recovery and you find the care that he needs so you don't have that on your plate. Take Care! Lots of love, Jim & Dixie
