Yesterday David had to visit the orthopedic oncologist for a follow-up visit. The PA stated he had bulging disks and a lot of arthritis in his back and the pain in his back and leg were due to these disks pressing on the nerves around them. He has to start physical therapy (God knows how he'll do this). Also, he had another large dose of radiation to try to control his pain. Sometimes I don't know how cancer patients endure the procedures they have to go through. David is pretty tough though and he's hanging in there. Whatever it takes to get rid of the cancer. Now he's going through all the side effects...pain, nausea, etc. Hopefully it won't last long. #cancersucks
David has been battling this bladder cancer for two years now. I've been by his side the whole time and I wouldn't have it any other way. I've seen him go through several rounds of chemo using different drugs that haven't worked. I've been there when he endured radiation therapy and invasive cystoscopes. Last spring we got the report that his bladder was clear of cancer and were thrilled. But not two months later they discovered that the cancer had metastasized to his bones and a couple months after that we were told it's now spread to his lungs. We are terrified! This new drug they are wanting to try is our only hope. David is my life. I can't even imagine being without him.
