Harder day

Today has been harder for Colleen. She has been vomiting bile several times today along with episodes of diarrhea. She is now getting a liquid medication for nausea in addition to continuing the pain medication. Since she is allergic to morphine and several other pain medications, she is limited to oxycodone. The strength has been increased as well as the frequency again today.

She is no longer able to handle food because she does not stay alert long enough to swallow it. She really hasn't wanted the few bites she took yesterday. Water is the same; very hard for her to swallow. She is receiving ice chips from time to time as she will accept them. Her mouth is being swabbed to help.

Two friends from her church came by this afternoon to talk to her and pray for her. If you are able to visit with her tonight, simply to keep her company realizing that she will seem to be sleeping or not responding to you, it would be most appreciated. My (Angie) birthday is today so my plans are to spend the rest of the evening with my family unless I am called by the caregiver to come. Jeffrey may be there, although he is finding it difficult from time to time and has taken walks or removed himself to be able to handle it. Cami needed to go home to Denver this evening, and will return in the early morning.
