The last of her generation; the end of an era

I make this last post with great sorrow. Our precious friend and family member, Cora, known to some as Tiby, or Aunt Tiby, passed away Saturday morning. She contracted a severe infection on Thursday, on top of another severe infection she was already fighting on top of pneumonia. It was too much for the doctors, medicines and her well-worn body to overcome.

What a blessing that she had 100 full years to love, uplift and inspire so many people on this earth in her own happy, humble and often humorous way.  In keeping with her ever-present desire to help others, she donated her body to U. T. Southwestern Medical for research and education.

Cora was proud and happy to have lived 100 years, but she was always ready to meet her Maker when her time on earth was through. She's likely to be reveling in heaven now with many family members and countless friends. As she approached the age of 100, she used to say that her friends in heaven must think she died and went to hell since she still wasn't in heaven!

Cora's family will soon be announcing a memorial service to be held in two or three weeks. We appreciate your prayers.

On a personal note; To those of you who faithfully checked this journal for updates the last month or so and found none, I apologize that I didn't keep it up.  How time flew when, besides moving and settling in, I was busy helping with Aunt Tiby, working to get her home, which regretfully couldn't happen. At times, I have to admit, I was pretty overwhelmed and just did the best I could. Thanks for your patience and understanding, and thank you for loving and supporting Cora.

Debra, Lee and family, we are all with you in this time of loss. We all love Cora so much and, can we stop for a moment, and thank the Lord that He has her in His loving arms holding her ever so close to His heart letting her know that she is finally "home" in His everlasting arms. It will be this way for all eternity. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death; neither any more sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
