Dear ones,

This is a brief update to confirm that I completed the last of six chemotherapy sessions today!  It was certainly a unique feeling…some crying (Nancy and I do a lot of that), a lighter burden, and much thankfulness (i.e. there is Someone on the receiving end).  I have included a photo of me in the infusion chair and my faithful caregiver.

I'll never forget the time I walked into the old Ellington Clinic with a festering, bullets-eye wound on my leg, the result, apparently, of an encounter with some eight-legged critter. "Don't know what you got, but I'm sure glad I don't have it," said Dr. Dave, with that wry little smile we all know so well. Consider the favor repaid, old friend. What none of us will ever be able to repay, however, is the kindness, gentleness, the sincere concern, the deep and abiding friendship, and the perfect role model of Christian faithfulness that you have shared with so many of us in every aspect of your life, on every day of your life. Here's hoping for many more decades of one of the best-lived lives ever.

Dave, we are grateful for this milestone, and the success of your treatments. We continue to pray for Grace and Peace on you and your family. On a side note, it is good to see that you have joined the long list of good looking bald men. My dad would be proud. God Bless you my Brother.
