The elevated liver enzymes proved to be Lisa’s normal. While they were looking at her liver, they went ahead and looked at all of her organs and found no abnormalities. We continue to see God’s favor in making this journey more encouraging than discouraging.
We have definitely endured less than many on this same journey, and what we have endured has been made easier with God’s peace and comfort. This peace that God has flowed through us has not gone unnoticed by some of Lisa’s caregivers, which has allowed her to explain what is different in her life than those who do not know or rely on God’s grace and infilling.
We will return to Texas for a consultation the first week in April. The second week, Lisa will have her final reconstruction surgery. She is hoping to return to normal this summer and be able to enjoy a little time away. Her mother likely will be back on duty soon as I will have to return to school a few days after her surgery. Lisa will surely have follow-up appointments in Texas the following week and won’t likely be up to traveling back to Oklahoma so soon.
