Wednesday Morning Update ~
Good Morning,
It's Wednesday morning and I wanted to update you on our progress this week. As many of you know each day is different from the other Gary's daily condition changes often. However, I must report and praise that the last two days, I am thinking due to your prayers, Gary is digesting protein, therefore feeling a little stronger. Thank you!
Each week for the last four weeks we pack up on Sunday night and Monday morning we head to Carlsbad were Gary's doctor is located. Gary receives treatment all five days, but on Tuesday and Thursday he receives Chemo. I would ask that you remember him in your prayers daily but especially on the Chemo days.
We met with the doctor yesterday, he is working with us tirelessly in addressing Gary s bloating and digestion issues, he also reported that Gary will start the stem cell treatment this Friday. When Gary started treatment they took his blood sent it Greece where they create healthy new stem cells from his own blood! The new stem cells will kill off the malfunctioning stem cells in Gary's body, thereby, doing the job they were meant to do and that is to recognize cancer cells and kill them.
We continue to keep the doctor and his staff in our prayers and ask that you would please pray for them that God would give them wisdom in addressing Gary's and all of the patients they severe. Prayers for continued direction regarding surgery and if it is the best option, continued prayers for Gary's digestion and absorption issues, and prayers for our family, as you can imagine this has been very difficult for our children to absorb, but we have seen God at work even answering life long prayers and we are grateful.
It's early in the day, my energy is good, I must admit that the tears can come without notice but then Gary and I read your encouraging posts, our we get a telephone call or text reminding us your still out there routing for Team Barton to Knock Out CANCER.
In the meantime we are blessed and grateful each day and for each one of you,
Blessings, Dawn

I agree with Shery on knowing the specifics of the treatment. My family, mom and sis, are praying for you all! Thank you!
Thanks so much for the update. I've been wondering how Gary is doing. So thankful to God for allowing him to be in such good hands. Praying for guidance for the doctors, and healing for Gary. Praying also that you will have the strength you need each day. I know it must be very hard to move back and forth like that. So praying, "Lord, shower them with your love, strength and healing, and truly hide them in the shadow of your wings, untill this calimity is past."
Hanging with you in in prayer and the fellowship of suffering...and rejoicing in hope.

Karen Beasanski - Wonderful news! Sounds like Gary is in very capable hands and that every option is carefully considered on his behalf. May God's strength and love continue to move you forward through what is sure to be a challenging but victorious battle. Thinking of you daily.

Dawn and Gary: it is wonderful to hear of the many positive events.in this journey. I pray you find your daddy god is as near as cheek to cheek. Hi Gary and Dawn. I recently learned of Gary's battle with cancer and just want you to know that you are all prayed for daily. I remember the uncertainty and the indescribable worry when Gregg (my brother) was going through treatment. We will all continue to think positively. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
