Rejoice with Us!

It is 9:53 am Friday morning and I am sitting in the treatment room with Gary. It is a small room with seven recliners, like  the ones you see at Costco, but these chairs all have IV poles sitting next to them and plastic stacks of drawers that are full of medical equipment. On most days there are hymns and Christian music playing but not today, not yet.

Today we are rejoicing because yesterday they removed nine pounds of fluid from Gary's stomach! This has eliminated much of the pain in his back, he can eat so much more, but carefully as there is a partial blockage of the small bowel and other tumors in the colon.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR PRAYERS!! We continue to covet them, as we will need prayers that we will be able to monitor the tumors reaction to the Stem Cell therapy, strength to continue his treatments, he is receiving Chemo today due to the other procedures he had earlier this week and and financial provision, OUR GOD IS FAITHFUL and each day our needs have been met!

Yesterday when I updated you on the progress of the fundraising I reported incorrectly. Currently we have received $18,050,00 in cash, and a $10,000 pledge. So as of today the balance needed is $21,950.00. I am starting to think I should have someone else in charge of counting the donations!! Sorry for the mix up and thank you for your support, it has made this all possible.

Today, I sit here with so much gratitude, being in a place where I can pray for so many, minister to them by listening and loving, so many around me are hurting, in so many ways.

I am also so grateful that you all are out there, that I can talk to you at anytime. I am so encouraged every time I see Gary smile when he reads your posts where you share your hearts, and prayers with us, or when we get a notice that one of you has shared from your finical resources, or we hear you are working on setting up a fund raiser, or we get home and there is a check in the mail for just the right amount needed that week!

Volleyball season is starting and we rejoice with you all!!  Team Barton wishes you all a victorious  season!!!

Again, thank you for being apart of TEAM BARTON and helping us KNOCK OUT Cancer!!

In Deep Gratitude,

Gary, Dawn and "The Team"

He is so faithful. In your time of need, your posts lift me up and remind me of that fact. And that we have a huge family of believers we can reach out to. The miracles performed in His time on earth are still available. His word is constant and true. Love and prayers to you, Gary, and your entire family. Thanks for keeping us updated.

My heart ached yesterday when I read your post. Especially when you got to the part when your oven broke. Any other time that is simply an annoying and financial inconvenience. But with all else going on, I imagine that could've been the final straw. At least for me it would. But your faith combined with other's encouragement and prayer, I could see with this incredibly heavy load to bear, you both are not defeated. Love and more prayers, Jeff

Blessed be the name of the Lord. On the good days, and the hard ones; when we are feeling stronger and especially when we are weak. Praying for you and for strength for each day as it comes.
