HOPE

Everyday with Cancer there are challenges and hopes that come our way. Gary has been home from the hospital for two weeks as of last Friday. It has been a good two weeks as he has gained strength each day. As of yesterday he was able to walk around our Mobile Home Park twice.  Each day starts with tears of surrender, prayers for Gary's healing and prayers for others who have asked us to remember them. Each day starts with an hour or more routine that covers Gary's health needs and care.

Each day we are grateful that God continues to meet our every need and we pray for those who are suffering. Each day we think of all of you, we are so blessed, each time you post on Posthope, send a written note, give a financial  gift, or say a prayer for us, it is at just the right time, Gods perfect timing. There are so many stories I could share of receiving the right encouragement at just the right time, you are being used as Gods hands and feet and are an enormous encouragement to Gary and the whole family.

Last Friday Gary resumed Chemo therapy in an effort to kill enough of the cancer and shrink the tumors enough that Gary can eat food and eliminate without medical intervention.  The doctor said this would be the best result of this round of Chemo we could ask for. The plan is five weeks of this round....please lift Gary up in prayer, please ask the Lord that Gary be protected from infections, that his digestive system would beadle to process whatever he puts in it, and that the best case result would be accomplished, this is no easy task but we serve a God of miracles, we already have all experienced so many miracles on this journey!

Our house in Palm Springs has not sold so I am asking that you would pray for it to sell, God has been faithful to hear our prayers and I am grateful you have joined in with us in coming before the Lord with our many needs.

One of our doctors told us that each day a cancer patient is alive there is HOPE, I agree but I must say that for us the HOPE comes in knowing how much the Lord loves Gary and has him in his hands.

Blessings, Dawn

So so glad to hear the good news! Our God is a mighty God indeed. "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning, new every morning. Great is thy faithfulness oh Lord, Great is thy faithfulness."

This is so encouraging and exciting. Our God is a God of miracles and you are giving me Hope for different obstacles and trials that we are facing. When we lift each other up in prayer I do believe that we are touched as well. Taking our focus off of ourselves and on to others is to be blessed! I know it is working for me. God blesses me each day as I lift up others and right now it seems we have so many friends walking this same pathway. So guess who is receiving the most blessings? Praying for you and rejoicing with you as well!

Who would ever have guessed, at the start of this month - with his pneumonia and stomach infection and the "time to say goodbye" alert, that Gary would be well enough to walk around the mobile home park twice less than four weeks later?! Yippee !! Praise God!! :) I am beyond happy for you. I know your battle isn't over, by any means, but it's so nice to have a little visible hope, a little break in the severity of the ravages on Gary's body. :) I am learning from your experiences - learning for Merrill (who is still feeling very well as he prepares for his second every-other-week chemo treatment) and for our young friend Kevin (who is in a great deal of pain from his cancer as well as sick from the chemo). May you and Gary win this fight! The battle is the Lord's. He is the King of kings and Lord of lords. He is the Lord of hosts. Psalm 24:7-10 7 Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. 8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, The LORD mighty in battle. 9 Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. 10 Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah I picture the gates of the city open to receive the King and his army, bringing the spoils, coming back in procession after victory. May God strengthen Gary's body (and mind and spirit - and yours also) to endure this next round of chemo, and may it accomplish its purpose and set the stage for the next step in his recovery. :)

Amen to Linda's prophetic word and scripture. We pray healing, by the blood of Jesus...and by his stripes we Are healed...all those who have written here...we all need that touch, that healing in our own souls and bodies...He is able...I. believe in healings...I know He is able from my dad's miraculous healing after dying on the operating table and living 8 more years.

My Gary and I have every confidence that The Lord is miraculously healing Gary! Our Lord is Jehovah Rapha, our God who heals. He heals all our diseases and nothing, not even cancer, is too difficult for Him. Heal Gary, o Lord, and he shall be healed in the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!

Your faith and surrender amazes me Dawn, I have to say when I said my goodbyes to Gary I still held the hope God had other plans! Maybe not just yet will you be able to give my Daddy a hug! These are some words to a song he wrote that I pray gives you peace. "I know that I do love Him I know He is my friend, this Jesus Lord and Savior whose truth will never end. To know why you are living and know that when you die The Lord will give the answer, He knows the reason why."
