HOPE

Everyday with Cancer there are challenges and hopes that come our way. Gary has been home from the hospital for two weeks as of last Friday. It has been a good two weeks as he has gained strength each day. As of yesterday he was able to walk around our Mobile Home Park twice.  Each day starts with tears of surrender, prayers for Gary's healing and prayers for others who have asked us to remember them. Each day starts with an hour or more routine that covers Gary's health needs and care.[...]

Sacred Ground~

I feel as if I am walking on sacred ground. Today, as I walked to the front door to receive some food prepared for us and I walked by my sleeping husband, who came home last Friday. I became overwhelmed with gratitude for all that God has done in our lives. Gary is home I just wanted you each to know and getting stronger each day. Within a couple of days, I will post a more complete update and prayer requests but please know that we feel your love, prayers and support everyday.[...]

SPIKE!

I would like to take a minute and clear up any confusion regarding my last post. When Gary was in the ER and then in ICU the doctors gave him hours and days to live.  As of today he is out of ICU and he has some good hours and some not so good hours. But all I can think of to describe today is SPIKE!!!  [...]

A Prayer of Gratitude

Although the doctors told us Gary had hours or days to live this morning he is still with us. God had other plans. Gary's condition remains serious but we are even looking at getting him home....lord willing! Although we are greatful for any time we are given to be with my Gary that is not the reason I titled this post the way I did. This morning Gary asked me to take his hand and pray with him. He prayed...Thank you father God for every ache.. Pain and dissipointment. Please help Dawn be clear headed today as she works on our busniess. Yes a true prayer of gratitude. And I am greatly humbled. We have been slowly reading your posts to Gary he can comprehend a couple at a time but he smiles and is greatful. [...]

Time to say goodbye

Hi friends and family,

This is Caleb and I am writing you from Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz,  CA. Just a few days ago dad's health quickly and dramatically declined. The dramatic change in his health was a shock to most everyone, even dad's most trusted doctor said, 'I did not see this coming, I'm sorry.' Dad has been diagnosed with a severe case of pneumonia and at the time the doctors were giving him very little chance of survival. The call went out to the family for everyone to gather and essentially say goodbye. Around 14 family members gathered together as we were preparing to say goodbye.[...]

ICU Update

On Saturday the doctors told us to call the family. You know as of today God had other plans. Gary remains in ICU and each day we face new challenges but your prayers are being answered and I am greatful. When my youngest daughter and I left his room he grabbed our hands and whispered. This is the day that the Lord has made we will rejoice and be glad in it. [...]
