It's Wednesday morning and I wanted to update you on our progress this week. As many of you know each day is different from the other Gary's daily condition changes often. Last night I found myself reaching into the same drawer as I have so many times in the  last few weeks. In the drawer are a stack of beautifully engraved thank you note cards. I can't tell you how many times i have wished I could slow the world down just long enough to write each of you a personal note of thanks. But, I must confess there are many times I am completely overwhelmed and my goal is to make it through the day, to make sure Gary receives as much nourishment as his body can handle without ending up in the ER, to assist him during his treatments, to help him be as comfortable as possible, and manage the pain. That is what my day and many of my nights, I am blessed. [...]

I am still waiting for my laptop so this post will be short as I am posting from my phone.  I will have my laptop by the following weekend!  Monday morning and we are starting out at Radiology.  Gary is having a PET scan. This test will check for cancer throughout Garys body...then off to the docs for treatment.  Each day I am learning not to lean on idols. ..each day I am learning that I had more idols then I even knew and as I release them the peace and joy that God promised is present.  But this post is for Gary's prayer needs and today we start out on week two of treatment. ..our prayer requests are as follows. ..if you have a prayer chain please include us in it..prayer for wisdom regarding Garys nutritional needs .....prayers for God to touch Garys stomach to eliminate the bloating and pain....and ofcourse I am asking for my hearts desire. ...healing total healing in Jesus name. I have witnessed the hand of God..answers to your prayers and today we are here starting week two because of your continued prayers,  posts of encouragement and your financial gifts. [...]

Hi friends and family,

 Today dad has begun treatment with Dr Winkler. Because dad did not have the implanted port last week, he was only able to undergo partial treatment. So, with the implanted port now in place, dad was able to start the treatment aggressively today. We are often asked exactly what the treatment is, but the answer to that question is not as straight forward as high dose chemo and radiation. Dr Winkler's approach is very patient specific. Each patient’s blood and stem cells are sent to labs abroad, like Greece, and here in the states for analysis and used as a guide for treatment. I can't say much more than that, because I don't know much more about it than that. What I do know, is that chemo, radiation and surgery administered by the top doctors and surgeons at UCLA only promised to extend dad's life a matter of months and they would take all quality of life away while doing it.[...]

The pic line is in. Gary is so thankful after his surgery he woke up to hyms and felt so reassured and comforted. This morning was rough but your prayers and posts gave us hope...helped us look up and see God when it seemed so difficult to do.  We will post an update tommorow but please know that we are starting into treatment because of your faithfulness your prayers...posts and financial gifts.[...]

We will be posting a complete update later today or tommorow as there is much to report and I will have my lap top back and fixed thanks to my son Paul. This morning we need your prayers. Gary has had a rough weekend and has not been able to digest his foods. I am asking for prayers for phyical strength. .that God would touch and heal Garys stomach ....that we would get to Carlsbad and get the pic line in.....pray the doc we have chosen would have Gods wisdom in treating Gary.[...]

I am writing this update from my phone so it will be a short post but a praise! Today we revived $18,668.59 in donations. Thank you Lord it is so encouraging. Gary and I are sitting at a campground eating miso soup...brown rice and kale....organic of course.  We are praising God for his goodness to us. Gary is really hurting tonight. His stomach is cramping like it did the night we went to the hospital...please pray for his stomach to settle down and for peace as we begin this journey. [...]
