Gratitude ~

This morning my heart is full of gratitude for you and your prayers. Yesterday when the car wouldn't start my first thought was post for prayer now! Weak and tired and not usually the one to deal with car issues and that kind of thing, it has always been Gary's job. But once again God showed up and as my loving Father guided and provided for me. After I asked for prayer, too weak to pray myself, I called my daughter-in law and she came and got me. After we talked it over I decided to call AAA. When I called they were so helpful, do to Gary having been such a good standing member for 17 years, there are times you are grateful for being older, she reported that the car could go to a AAA recommended shop and the work would be covered for 24,000 miles, that was a relief because we just spent $2000.00 at a shop we didn't know several weeks ago. She also informed me that we had a one days paid car rental to use while the car was in the shop. Big breath...let it out....I am so grateful. The tow truck driver came and after asking me a couple of questions. He poped up the hood and tightened a few things and then he started the car....yep he sure did. He smiled and said enjoy your night! Tears of relief and gratitude were streaming down my face. I went and sat down with son, his wife and my beautiful little granddaughter praising the Lord from my heart that was and is full of gratitude for Gods goodness to me.[...]

Eye of the Storm ~

Since I last wrote you I have had this saying, ' Eye of the Storm", impressed on me over and over.I have sat down to write you many times and each time the saying 'Eye of the Storm' came to me and I just didn't know what I was suppose to write and what it meant, so I would close the computer and ask God to show me what he wanted me to understand.[...]

MODERN DAY MIRACLES!!

I would have to say the last couple of days have once again promised to be very challenging...but that is not the end of the story!!

As you know we checked Gary into the hospital yesterday due to some symptoms that indicated he may have a totally blocked bowel. He did not it was still a partial block....Praise the Lord...are you with me? Ok, so last night Gary was visited by the surgeon who was part of the hospital team when Gary was first diagnosed. He is a very nice man and part of the reason we were compelled to return to the Desert Hospital when we found ourselves afraid Gary might need surgery. Anyway, last evening after I left the hospital he met with Gary and when they were done Gary decided to allow the doctor to put a permanent colostomy bag in and a port to drain the fluids in his abdomen.[...]

later to Day~

Is has been almost been 12 hours since we loaded the car and headed to Palm Springs Emergancy Room. The CAT Scan showed that there is a partial block...not an obstructed bowel. That is good news but as we sit they are emptying the contents of Garys stomach in hopes that doing so would relieve the small bowel and intestines but nothing is cming out...Garys stomach is empty...they have to continue to look for the problem. Thank you so much for your prayers. This morning I started to feel fear and sheer helplessness.  Then I started reading your posts...recieving your texts and the peace that surpasses understanding has been my companion.  When I am able to walk in peace I can minister to Gary and those  around me. Your prayers are coveted and we will report all progress as it comes it. Good night and for today another day God has met all our needs. [...]

Monday ~

Its 7:00 pm on Monday and I writing to you from a hotel room a few miles from the doctors office in Carlsbad. Once again we were going to stay with our son, his wife and our precious granddaughter, and once again we needed to stay closer to treatment and the hospital here. When we walked into the doctors office this morning I was exhausted beyond description.  The staff immediately saw my fatigue and Gary's look of pain and discomfort. The office manager came to me sat with me and we prayed for Gary, and  for the doctor to have wisdom and for Gary's continued healing. As I posted last week nine pounds of fluid was removed from Gary's stomach and as you can imagine that has left room for him to eat again. Gary enjoyed a couple of meals but as of last night things don't seem to be passing through, his pain increased and concerns about blockage plagued our minds. The doctor tried somethings today and we are to call if we end up at the hospital tonight...but Praise the Lord, he gave us his cell phone number and told us to have the hospital staff call him if we had to go.[...]
