I used to go to school with a Gary Barton, live oak, he was my first boyfriend. And I'm wondering could this sadly be the same Gary...his father was the preach of the first Baptist church at the twin lakes church...if anyone know, I'd really like to know, and no matter if it's the same person or not I am very sorry and am filled with sadness for the families God blessing to all

I just wrote a heart-felt message, but it got deleted while changing and updating my password. But, here is the gist of it.
Gary left his gifts for all through the way he lived his life for the Lord. He has touched so many people that we may never know about. That touch as been carried on in their choices, their behaviors and the goodness that is evident. It is also evidence in the one-flesh grandchildren who thrive and cheer up your lives daily.
Yes, grief can really surprise one, when it springs back revealing itself again. Perhaps it is that such a love is so deep and nothing, but the Lord can consistently fill that spot. Gary was a very special husband, he gave a great deal to his family, and his music ministry opened hearts to the Lord.
I am sorry you are still dealing with emotions of sadness, but I know you are honest and not letting anything go unfelt. We honor Gary's life, and we honor you, Dawn, for being the strong women behinds the scenes to encourage him along. You were a wonderful couple, and your grown children reflect that.
God bless and I hope to see you in the near future.
Love,
Connie

Diane and I are so sorry we won’t be able to attend tomorrow’s celebration of Gary’s life. I feel privileged to have been able to play music with Gary for so long in our prison ministry band as well as in the Retreads. Also very thankful for all the beautiful carpentry work he did on our home in Scotts Valley. What a talented, wonderful, selfless and caring man. He will always hold a special place in our hearts. I had the realization this morning that I lost my protector, i mean he always knew he would not be here forever so I geuss thats why he has always pushed me to take care of myself, but still some how I feel like my life long protector is gone. Missing him this morning.
Staying in my job and being strong is all i can do to keep making him proud.
Staying positive, i am truly blessed with so many people getting me threw this, i am blessed with family but not just blood my friends who have stayed by my side for years and never left. I love you guys, and to my new but old friends thank you. Its hard to believe life can be so amazing during this crazy saddest time in my life, but if i have learned anything it is that life is short and you seriously need to try and live every single moment happy. One love all

We were blessed to have Gary in our lives. I loved watching him coach our girls and I loved watching him play in church. He touched many people in many ways.

Dearest Dawn, words elude us. Thank you for posting the post- hope link. Phil and I are praying for each of you. We are so jealous that Gary is already dining with the King, and that he will be accompanying Jesus on His return, and we are so sorry for you and your family, and for we who are still here. He was such a sweet man, a gentle soul, and so brave when he went to the Phillipines to find Caleb and his wife. Oh how we will miss him.
