Two years ago, a severe vertigo attack brought Glen under the care of a neurologist. Balance and gait issues resulted in MRIs which showed many white spots in his brain. They were called multiple mini-strokes. Six months ago, another MRI revealed an undiagnosable shadow, which resulted in more tests to eliminate certain conditions. After that, his ability to process and learn new information began to change, and language difficulties (aphasia) have developed. Recently, an MRI showed that the spot has become definitive and a brain tumor has been diagnosed. He just underwent a brain biopsy. The results have been slightly delayed, and we are still awaiting a consult to determine a treatment plan. We are so fortunate to be in the care of the UNC Department Chair of Neuro-oncology, Dr. Ewend, and hope to keep you updated through this Caring Bridge website. Glen feels good, and we are ready to make this journey with your caring and support.
