Bread of Life

Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life; he who comes to Me will not hunger, and he who believes in Me will never thirst.   John 6:35
Mom stopped eating several days ago.  The hospice folks tell us that her body cannot handle food anymore and although we can provide some liquid nutrition through her G-tube there maybe a point when this could cause more harm than good.  This was hard to reconcile in my mind, but when she woke up with stomach pain this morning after a feeding last night, I got what they are saying.  Mom is now living solely on the Bread of Life.
She is resting as comfortably as she can right now.  She is dealing with some pain and is sleeping more throughout the day.   Steve is coming for a visit in the next week.  We have no idea how much time mom has, but I am thankful for every day we have together.
Thank you to everyone, for the visits, food, flowers and visits, calls, emails, posts on this site, and for your continued thoughts and prayers.  From near and far you have provided much support and comfort.

Thank you Laura for the update. Will continue her and the family up in prayer. I sure miss seeing your mom. Let her know that the Mililani Baptist Japan mission team will be praying for you as we continue with the ministry here in Ishinomaki. Part of the funding was set up with funds collected after your dad pass edge away.

Please, Laura, tell your Mom it's okay to go home to be with the Lord and to see once again, her husband of many years. I truly believe we will be able to hang around with the best friends we had while on earth. Jesus and our beloved great husband of many years. Give my friend a true warm hug and kiss from me. Love, Gail

Sending warmest blessings during this very difficult time. These are some of the hardest moments - the uncertainly, the anxiety, the waiting, the hoping. Many of us have been there, and because of that we are walking beside you closer than ever--in our thoughts, our prayers, and love. There are no other words...

Oh Laura. I'm so sorry. I am praying for Aunty Grace. Praying that in these last precious days the Lord Jesus will comfort her with His Peace that passes all understanding; praying that she is pain free; praying for strength for you and Steve for the days to come. I wish I could be there to lend support. Please give her a kiss of Aloha from me. Love you.

Dearest Laura, praying for heart breaks as we've read each word you have written and all the sweet words caring loved ones have written back to you, Grace & your family, family of friends & family of care givers. All of these words come to my own mind & heart to say & reflect on to say to you... We love Grace so much, we love you & you are doing all you can do with the Lord as your guide. Your Mom & Dad are so proud of you & Steve... you must know how thankful they are for your loving care. We shall continue to pray for peaceful comfort, as someone said, as only our Lord can give...for Grace and for all of you, too, Laura. This is not easy...again, as someone wrote, we, too, have traveled similar paths. We shall be praying for the Lord's will for your precious Mama... please, touch her sweet hand & tell her we all love her dearly with such thankfulness in our hearts for her. May God bless you & Steve, Laura. May God bless your precious Mama in a most special way, everyone's precious Grace. Love to each one of you...prayers for all.

Dear Laura...I know it's hard to find the right words that will lighten your heart at this most difficult time, but please know that I am with you in spirit and am praying for you, your brother and his family and especially, your lovely mom, Grace. She touched our lives in more ways than you know, mine in particular because of her kindness, patience, time, attention and mostly her thoughtfulness and caring. God has always been with her and will remain with her always. Sending you my love and endless prayers.,, If there's anything at all that you need - please don't hesitate to ask. Love, Millie

Laura, you and I have never met, but your sweet mom and I have been friends for many years. Our husbands were Executive Directors at the same time. Grace and I both love angels and have shared ideas about our love for crafts. You, your precious Grace and your brother, Steve continue to be in mine and my husband's prayers. May the Great Comforter give your peace and strength these anxious days. Please tell Grace that her friend, Audie Jones in Franklin, Tennessee loves her. God bless you all.

We continue to pray for your mother. Our hearts hurt to know of her condition. We have beautiful memories of her generous heart to missions and missionaries. We pray for you also, Laura, as you have cared for your mom these months. May God bless you both with a strong sense of His Presence.

My heart is heavy and tears pour out and words fail me. Yet, we seek His comfort and we have peace knowing that the Omnipotent God is in control. We continue to pray for Mom and the family. The Wives in Ministry are praying as well.
