Beth completed Round 3 of chemo this week- halfway done!!! And that's not even the best news. Beth's awesome oncologist Dr. Nagasawa did an exam to check progress and see if the tumor has changed. Before starting chemo, Dr. Nagasawa explained that while this is an aggressive form of breast cancer, he was starting and aggressive form of chemotherapy to combat it, and that sometimes aggressive cancers are very responsive to chemo. After the exam, Dr. Nagasawa said that Beth's main tumor has shrunk noticeably, and that the tumor in her lymph nodes was now barely detectable. Can I get a collective HOORAY!!! Of course, we won't know the official extent of the change until after chemo ends and Beth has another MRI, but this is very promising news. Beth was pleasantly surprised and is now even more determined to fight through the rest of the chemo.
Thank you again to everyone who has called, emailed, texted, or visited. We all appreciate the love and support. Continued love and prayers as Beth fights through the after effects of this round, and as we look down the road that we've traveled halfway together.
