Hi Grove's Groupies- so sorry for the delay in updating. It's been a full month. Beth just finished chemo round 5 of 6 on Monday!!! It's incredible that Beth is on the downhill slope of the first of what we know will be many hills to climb.
From the beginning of diagnosis and planning her treatment schedule, one of the most important things to Beth has been to be healthy enough to enjoy her nephew John's wedding. This last weekend, at the end of her 4th round of chemo and just before chemo 5, Beth mustered up the energy to spend the whole weekend away for the wedding. She even helped get ready for the festivities, providing her incredible calligraphy skills for some of the signage at the reception dessert bar. She looked absolutely beautiful, and with happy tears watched John marry the love of his life, Thalia. We were all so impressed and proud of Beth's strength and determination. I promise we will share a photo of Beth as soon as we track down someone who was able to sneak a picture of our favorite camera-shy lady.
Beth is now focusing on completing chemo, with the last round scheduled for November 13. Shortly after, Beth will have another MRI and then meet with a surgeon to discuss the MRI results and talk through next steps. Right now, it's looking like surgery (we won't know how extensive the surgery will be until after the MRI) in early 2018 and then radiation once Beth has recovered from surgery. Promise we will keep this site updated as we journey over the peaks and valleys together.
Last note- thank you to everyone who has called, emailed, stopped by, sent a card, walked a breast cancer race or worn pink in honor of Beth this month. Katie's whole staff at TLC wore pink one day and sent Beth a picture holding a sign that said #GroveStrong. We all continue to be overwhelmed with your love and support. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
