It's really getting close. We might be able to bring Hannah home soon! For the most part, she's doing really well right now. She used to stop breathing randomly (indicating signs of apnea), but May 13th was the last time she did that. Hannah still struggles to breathe and drink milk at the same time, but the staff assures us that this is normal. Technically, I would have been 36 weeks pregnant yesterday, and our nurses remind us she wouldn't have to do any of these jobs (breathing, eating, etc.) for another 4 weeks. So while she's not an expert at feeding, she's learning how to do it. The other night, she stopped breathing during a feeding and turned blue on us. Staff trained us on what to do in these moments, but we're still advised to call 911 at home.
Hannah, we hope you're ready to come home soon. Your sister, Sarah, cannot wait you meet you! Although we're nervous about the next step of our journey, we're so excited we get to do it as a whole family.
