Choosing to grow up....

"Never play

with someone's

feelings

just because

you're unsure

of your

own"

There are

so many

ways to

look at

this statement

-past

-present

-future...

I know

I have

played with

other's

feelings

-with guilt

-shame

-anger

-need...

When I

think of

whining

& begging

-without stopping

-until the

person gave

in...

Now

-when that

idea comes

-I check

in with

myself...

Everyone has

the right

to say

no

-and for

me to

accept that

is freeing...

It gives

me the

choice

-actually

-reinforces it

-to be

able to

say no

too...

I'll do

this

-not speak

-act rudely

-cut the

person out

of my

life

-if I

don't get

my way

-what I

want...

Most of

us have

done this

-what do

we really

accomplish

-what do

we gain...

It only

feeds

-self-serving

thinking &

behaviors...

I do

not want

to be

used

-so I

choose not

to use

others...

There is always Hope!  When a person just wants to take, take, take-I have a real hard time wanting to have any kind of association.  When we learn to give to ourselves, love, nurturing, kindness-it is easier to see others who do the same.
