Community

Do you feel part of a community?  I do in a small way, yet I do not see other artists as often as I would like to.  I also feel that way at work, but I do not hang out with any of my co-workers outside of the office.

I grew up with a Finnish & church community.  I went to the elemantary school connected to the church.  Having this was a very vital part of my sense of belonging-I had friends, adults I admired & fun at funtions.

Feeling that one belongs to something bigger than themselves is so important.  Somewhere you feel comfortable & can relate to others.

My sister & I talk about this quite often & ways of connecting with others with the same beliefs.  I am so thankful that I can talk to her regularly, it would be even better if we lived a lot closer.

So many cultures tend to stick together-it makes sense, you know you have so many things in common.

I do not understand why people in certain communities are friendly-to a point, however to be welcomed & embraced, that is something rare.

It takes time for people to become comfortable with you & that goes for you as well-but some places, I feel that I am visiting a foreign country & do not know the language or custums, even when I do.

I know it is up to me to be the first to reach out with a friendly hello, it is challenging though, but take the risk & eventually I will become connected.

You Are Worth So Much!

God Bless
