Leading by example
We all can be a strong influence to others everyday-be it in a good or bad way. Too often, we just do whatever we want without thinking how it affects people.
I am not saying to be perfect, however, when you do make a mistake, hurt someone's feelings or have taken someone for granted-it is not hard to say "I am sorry" Three simple words that do not get used enough.
Even if you do not think you owe an apology, but the the other person does-say it anyways. It does not cost you anything & it shows leadership.
Choose to be the person who focuses on the positive, despite circumstances. I like to tell people I'm okay even when I'm hurting inside. I can still speak, breathe & function-I can stay positive & not affect someone in a negative manor.
Smiling, saying "Hello", asking "how are you?", holding the door, letting some one a head of you in line, saying "please & thank you"-there are so many ways you can be a leader in being pleasant & thoughtful.
Some of us may do these things already, so how about challenging yourself to do more? Invest in people. Take the time to get to know them & be kind. If you do not agree with something they say, try not to give your opinion straight off. For example if some one puts down/says a joke about a gay person-you could respond by saying I have gay friends & they are great people.
Leading others by being friendly & caring in a consistant manor shows this world that there are good people & that there is Hope.
You Are Worth So Much!
God Bless
