It is official, we have a diagnosis - Mediastinal large B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
The great news is that this isn't just treatable, but it is the type of cancer that you CURE and move on from. My bone marrow biopsy is Friday morning. My PETScan is Monday morning. These will be the last bits of info we need to move forward.
There are multiple successful ways of treating this particular variety of lymphoma. Dr. Unger has reached out to his colleague at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston to discuss how they are currently treating it. It is nice to know that we will have input from them as well.
At my appointment Friday we should be able to discuss preliminary treatment options. When we know what the scoop is, we'll reach out and line up the help we need. Thank you to everyone sending their support. Please don't feel pressure to communicate through this website, but use it if it works best for you :)
