Surgery went well. Jim was in recovery for quit some time while a nerve test was conducted, a pain block put in, and cast was put on. The surgeons were not able to get his knee totally straight but only about 5-10 degrees off so a lot closer than it was prior to surgery. They did a lot of cutting and had to cut a tendon in order to get to those degrees so pain management will be high priority for the next several weeks. Also physical therapy and a special brace to force the leg straight after the cast so that it doesn’t revert back to flexion contracture. We expect Jim to come home Friday or Saturday depending on pain management. We had a picture to post above but this site is giving us some problems so will try posting it on the photos tab.
