Sometimes one can be disheartened, nay dispirited, by the pterodactyl-sized chunks of bird doodoo that splatter across the windshield of one's life.
I need not and shall not regale you with a recitation and repetition of Lilly's recent life, which has been the focus and indeed purpose of this blog. Suffice it to say that, without tempting the Fates too much, life now seems to be a much sunnier place. Visits to the City of Hope are now every other week rather than weekly, and the most recent visit to the cardiologist was cautiously encouraging.
Those of you who follow Facebook (i.e. all of you, everyone you know, everyone they know, and so on) will have seen that yesterday Lilly hosted a lovely celebratory birthday lunch for some of her dear friends. I wanted to thank you all for being there for her during this happiness deprived and windshield beshatten period. We look forward to staying in touch with all of you and especially those who so kindly went out of their way to renew their friendship. It meant a lot.
Perhaps those of you who were at the lunch could send me any good photos that you might have taken. Please email them to firstname.lastname@example.org.
