As a treatment plan for her metastatic breast cancer, Julie has entered a trial at MD Anderson Because this is a trial utilizing drugs not previously used, all the side effects are not yet known and must be very carefully monitored. Julie will have blood tests and an examination every week while she's on this trial. That means we will be traveling to Houston every week. The trial is administered in "28-day cycles". Assuming that Julie doesn't have to drop out of the trial due to severe side effects (which sometimes happens with trials), we will have to complete two cycles before a scan will be taken to see if the treatment is effective. That means that we won't know the results for a couple of months. I will let y'all know how it goes. Thanks for your continued support.
