August 8th/9th Update

I woke up Saturday morning and started getting ready for the morning.  Aaron and I were headed to the hospital, my dad was going to finish up some things at home and then meet us there.

As I was getting ready I noticed I was very uncomfortable and couldn't distract myself from the discomfort.  After forcing myself to finish getting ready I laid back down for a bit in an effort to rest a bit.  After telling Aaron what I was feeling and after listening to my body more, I thought that maybe I was in labor and had started having contractions.  We called my doula (birth coach/assistant) and explained my symptoms to her…baby was on the way!

We quickly packed and got on the road to head back to Peoria.  We were going to have a home birth so I was very set on getting back to our house in Metamora.  On our way I called my mom and said, "Don't got anywhere momma, I'm having this baby and soon you'll be a grandma!"  She said, "Okay, good luck, I hope it's a baby girl!"

After many hours of laboring, Sunday morning at 4:15am in the comfort of our own home Aaron and I welcomed Baby boy, Beau Robert Sparks into our family.  He weighed 8.5lbs and is 20.5 inches long.  We were overwhelmed with love for our sweet baby boy!

We can't wait for Beau to meet his Grandma! Maybe my mom was right about that pepperoni pizza ;)

Stephanie, Thanks so much for sharing your Mom's journey with us. You are so blessed to have learned all the wonderful ways a Mom can raise a child as you now raise yours. I always admired all the time she spent showing and teaching you. I was blessed by some golf lessons from her. Even though her time may be short, ask her everything you always wondered. These conversations will remain forever in your heart once she is called home. Sending you and your family lots of love, prayers and hugs! Sue Boulton

Stefanie, Such joy to hear you have a healthy baby boy and to know he will be held by grandma Kay. I was one of the pepperoni pizza people the at your house the night before I delivered Denise. Glad the tradition continues. If there is a need you think I can help with, please let me know. Joan and family

Dear Kay and Family, I want to apologize because I wrote my post, just after and only reading " Kay's journey from the begginig'. Now, after reading every post, I realize what the situation is. I'm so sorry because of the last news but I still keep saying " go,go,go". LOVE.
