OOPS. It looks like this didn't post with the photos last night! We will be moving to the Nebraska Hope Lodge tomorrow, yay:) Kelley had a great day today... much more like herself! [...]
Finally, something Kelley found that doesn't taste like s#!t!
A half a PB&J sandwich, a carton of milk, and a bite of yogurt is all she could do... but it's fuel for the afternoon. Been a busy day so far, very active with one good nap in the middle. Just went through mail and opened a few cards after our walk, which always warms her heart. This batch welled up a few tears and sparked a few good chuckles :) So nice to see her laugh![...]
Kelley is officially one week post op and Dr. Foster and staff continued to be impressed by her progress. Her epidural is out and this morning she got upgraded to real food!!! Her request was bacon and eggs!!! Hope it was good!!! [...]
Hello KelleyStrong Army,
Our favorite patient continues to amaze Dr. Foster, her surgeon. Kel has been upgraded to a full liquid diet and there is talk of her escaping the hospital walls this weekend, but we are in a wait and see mode on that. Just the mere talk of it is very encouraging though!!![...]
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!!!
As I write this post, I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude. The “Luck of the Irish” has been on Kelley’s side and we are very grateful for that. Each day Kelley has continued to make positive progress. [...]
Happy Friday!!!! It has been a good one in Omaha for our girl Kelley.
She did not sleep well last night with all the machines/monitors beeping, blinking and making annoying noises in general. This morning they felt her blood pressure was stable enough to disconnect the internal blood pressure monitor, which was responsible for making most of the noise. Hopefully that will translate into better sleep for her tonight. [...]
Good Evening and sorry for the delay in posting. First and most importantly, Kelley is doing as well as can be expected, and that is good news. The debulking surgery was long, 16 hours and Dr. Foster said she was stable all the way through. Once the debulking was done, she received heated chemo therapy into her abdomen and was rocked back and fortth for 90 minutes. By the time it was all said and done and she got to the ICU, I think it was close to 4 am.[...]
Greetings from Omaha! Kelley is still in surgery and is stable. That is great news. Dr. Foster continues to do his thing and is making good progress. We chose Dr. Foster for several reasons. First, he has performed this surgery over 400 times and second, he can take things out, reconstruct them and put them back in. We get updates every 3 hours. Our next one is at 11. Dr. Foster has been known to work 20+ hours, so we are patiently waiting. Keep all the prayers, pictures, comments coming. Kelley will really enjoy reading all these and it is also helpful for us as well. We love you all and thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!!!! [...]
