It’s been 6 months! So many emotions… appointments…changes…prayers answered. We were hoping to have definitive results from Becca’s recent mri and myleogram, but after meeting with the neurosurgeon yesterday, things are still a bit mysterious. TC was hoping Becca could start weaning off her many medications. Becca experiences some numbness and dizziness still…her left arm is not fully functional…there is hip pain. So they are taking her case to the “clinic” - a full team of doctors - to discuss. Kellie is doing well and FINALLY has no more granulomas on the pinsites on the sides of her head. It took 4 trips to the dermatologist and several biopsies. We follow up with him today as a matter of fact to check on their scars on her forehead. Yesterday the neurosurgeon gave the girls exciting news; they can resume full contact soccer in October (no heading the ball, of course). They were in tears – so relieved and happy! They’ve been working out this summer with their high school team. They very much enjoyed going to FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) camp in late June. They got a chance to share their story with a couple of members of the USA men’s Chivas soccer team…and they met and talked with Matt Barkley (quarterback of USC). The girls are looking forward to their senior year of high school…getting back on campus and being “normal” again. We want to thank you again for your continued encouragement and prayers. I came across this scripture in the Beth Moore Bible Study “Stepping Up”; she was pointing out the ways people can be of authentic help to one another. One way is in praying. 2 Corinthians 1:10-11 “He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will continue to deliver us, as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on ourbehalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many. “[...]
