Transplant status

My apologies for not updating for awhile. There’s been a lot going on again and I wanted to make sure we had all done the information before I posted again.

Last Thursday Kenna had to have a feeding tube put in. She hasn’t been gaining weight like they want and in order to be put on the list she needs to be at a normal BMI.

This past Saturday she woke up at 1:30 in the morning with kidney and abdominal pain. My parents brought her to the hospital and she was admitted. The tube feeding she was on was likely the culprit for her pain.

Monday they did another paracentesis and pulled a little over 3 liters of fluid from her abdomen. Unfortunately, this is a result of her kidneys not functioning basically at all. Her kidney doctor came to talk to her and told her she for sure needs a kidney. They were hoping after almost 2 months of dialysis they would see improvement but unfortunately we just aren’t seeing that.

At this point her liver and kidney doctors need her to gain weight. Once she does she will get on the transplant list and we will wait for a liver and kidney from the same donor.

As always, your love, kindness, and prayers are always appreciated.
