Adiós Red Devil!!!

A small celebration in my journey.......today was the LAST of my four "red devil" chemotherapy treatments.......hooray!! Now, as I prepare to go into hibernation for the rest of this week and sleep it off, I can be hopeful that it will be the LAST time (the next 12 weekly treatments are supposed to be easier on me).  Those start in two more weeks.

I do apologize that I haven't updated my page in four weeks (time even flies when you are NOT having fun😆), but I REALLY have to be in the mood to write, and I just haven't been that.   We have had quite an eventful start to February around here.. As prepared as I thought I was to lose my hair, that was no picnic in the park.  The first place of my hairless hat debut was mass on Sunday.....that was a reeeeeally long walk up and back down the aisle to receive communion that day. Next was Noah's basketball game later that afternoon.  Shortly after arriving, I started to realize that every mom/grandmother there to cheer on the Blue Jays was wearing a hat or scarf too (this by the way, was the sweetest, most kindest idea of my mother-in-law Linda❤) Thanks to all of you for that heart-warming gesture of support.  Now I don't really even think about my hat (other than the fact that they make my head itch like crazy and that my winter hat collection that was supposed to get me through mid March is just not working with this unseasonably WARM weather......please pray for ❄winter❄to COME BACK SOON and stay awhile......for my sake anyway😉

Next came our 22nd wedding anniversary on Feb 4th.  On our way out the door to a nice dinner, Brian discovered that the septic had backed up and flowed out onto our basement floor in all it's glory.  Happy Anniversary!!  And I'm fairly certain that cleaning up after that was probably NOT on the top of the list of things people with a compromised immune system should have been doing😄  I learned that evening (and am still living it)......that hoarding is NOT a good thing. NOT NOW, NOT EVER!  I vow to find a new home for half of our belongings now.  Anyone need anything???.....I've probably got it.  But hey, we get all new carpet, flooring, and all the walls repaired (even the ones that the kids have damaged over the years) and repainted......you have to find the positive in every situation, right?  On the other hand, I can't help but wish that something like this could have happened in our 29 year old UGLY kitchen or one of our 29 year old bathrooms that actually NEED the makeovers.....I guess I better be more careful what I wish for though (I've always HATED my curly hair and recently used to wish for time to just lay around and relax.......and bingo....my wish was granted)

Oh and just in case you were wondering....that mess happened at 4pm.  Finally, at 9pm, I ran and picked up Skyline and a Red Box movie for us to watch.  It ended up being a pretty great little evening just eating carryout and watching a movie together.....something we haven't done in years......a small blessing💑  However, I can't take credit for cleaning up that whole time either.....I napped from 6-8 while Brian burned all the damaged cardboard boxes in the firepit.

A few other "doozies", and a close call or two have happened to us since then, but I am not going to bore you with all the details. Instead, I am going to pray (and ask for prayers) that this dark cloud hanging over our abode will be lifted sooner than later.....for my hubbys sake if nothing else......not sure he can take one more streak of bad luck this month😨😨😨

You look beautiful! So grateful for the love & support you have from your blood family, church family, friends and school peeps. Such a sweet gesture from all the ladies at the game. Yes, I agree...you can always find a positive in every situation! Toughest treatments are behind you...that is amazing! God is good...He'll continue to be right beside you while you walk this journey. Prayers continue, giving thanks to God in Jesus name for your complete healing, comfort & peace. Mark 11:24 NIV "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours". Keep the faith. ❤ you. xoxo

One of my favorite quotes is, "This too shall pass." It's one I tell myself during tough times when everything seems to be going wrong, as well as good times in my life when I just want to stop time and enjoy the moment forever. I'm so sorry to hear about the basement bad luck, something you shouldn't have to deal with right now. But, your attitude is awesome, and I love how you are finding those little bright moments even under what seems to be a dark cloud right now. This will definitely pass, and brighter days are coming your way! Sending lots of prayers and good vibes. :)

The Bible tells us that God won't give us more than we can handle. To us it seems like he does sometimes but with His love and our hope in Him we always seem to get through it. You and Brian have done a great job so far and I'm sure you will see this to the end and be much stronger people for it. Love, prayers, and blessings to all of you. Uncle Jim and Aunt Betty

So happy the worst of the chemo is ova, and that you get a little respite for a few weeks :) The hat / scarf bit just about did me in over coffee this morning - sweetest thing ever. Sounds like you have a wonderful mother-in-law :) I'll give her a #lindaforprez hashtag fo sho. It sure does seem to pour when it rains, but I'm in awe of you being able to write on here and just to weather it all with so much grace and positivity. Sending you tons of love, Laura!!! From GusGus too :) xoxox Steph

You look beautiful and keep trying to find the positive! You inspire me to quit complaining about the inconsequential things. I thought it was funny that you said you always hated your curly hair! Besides your adorable, sweet personality, what I remember most about you is your hair - I always thought it was GORGEOUS! I'll be keeping you in my prayers.
