I'm sorry it's taken so long (again) to update. It's been a very busy month!
I had chemo treatment #5 last Friday. Only one more to go!! I'm so glad because I'm geting really tired of them! It seems to take my stomach longer each time to recover so I'm home just feeling pretty gross. I'm so thankful for everyone who has helped with cleaning my house, providing meals, hanging with my kids and just checking in to see how I'm doing.
I'm thankful that my side effects haven't been as bad as they could be. That's me trying to be positive. :)
I did have blood taken for my genetic testing and am expecting to see results in the next couple of weeks. It takes 4-5 weeks for the testing and is pretty extensive. They actually test for about 25 types of cancer genes. Crazy! If it comes back that I'm positive for the breast cancer gene (which the odds of that are very low) they may recommend I have a mastectomy (where they would remove both breasts) instead of just a lumpectomy (where they just remove the tumor). I'm not too concerned and am confident that God is in control and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to be cancer-free!
About a month after my last chemo round (which is May 8th) we'll schedule surgery. A month after surgery we'll start radiation, if it's needed, which will be 5 days a week for 5-6 weeks. July and August are going to be busy months with lots of driving. :(
The kids are still doing really well and have been so super sweet. They are great snugglers! And Andrew has still been amazing taking care of me and the kids and the house and everything else!
HUGE thanks to my family for going above and beyond to care for us, and for my co-workers, who still push me to go home when they know I don't feel well.
I don't know what else to write, but I'm more than happy to answer any questions if you have any. Thank you again for being part of our life!
