Plaque on the Wall

We met a new doctor today, Dr. Bain who is with neurology and he did a lot of explaining. Yesterday when talk of the surgery began, we weren't given the extensiveness of mom's abcess. We asked Dr. Bain for more detail as Justin and I had both begun picking up cues from the rounding physicians. Dr. Bain told us that none of mom's physicians had ever seen an abcess as large as mom's in their entire career. We found out that mom's surgery had bumped someone else's as it was that emergent to remove the fluid. According to the doctor, had the fluid expanded even a millimeter more, mom easily could have been paralyzed from the neck down. I'm sharing this information now because things are moving in such a positive direction. Dr. Bain told mom that she should get a plaque on a wall here and informed us all that he does not think any of the physicians here will ever see something like this again in their career.

Mom is amazing
