Ollie is doing great! She sends an update:
Dear Family and Friends,
Hard to believe that I have been on the cancer journey for a year. It started April 2, 2018. I have been blessed with your prayers, cards, calls, and good wishes many times over this past year.
The Lord has provided me with amazing family support and super doctors, nurses and medical teams in Arizona and Nebraska.
Here's the latest update:
Weather finally gave us a break to see the oncologist in Omaha on the 11 of April after some cancellations because of storms and flooding. A scan indicated an abscess infection on the right side of my abdomen in an area that was affected before. A new drain tube was installed and I have received an IV antibiotic every day at the local hospital for about a month, this will continue for a few more weeks. I am doing much better and have no reaction from the antibiotic. They had an allergy screening done before starting treatment to find something that would work.
All is well for the moment.
I have finished physical therapy (PT), and just do at home follow-ups at this time. I also have promoted to a cane instead of a walker, and can walk short distances with no support- Lightens the load. Yeah!
Hair is growing back- feeling good!
PROGRESS EVERY DAY!
Prayers, cards, texts and calls mean a lot.
Thanks for all the support,
As Ollie says, she is making progress towards returning home! She is still on the feeding tube and continuing to attend speech therapy.
She celebrated her birthday with all of her brothers and sisters at Pearl's, which was a special treat she really enjoyed!
If you wish to send anything, continue to use Pearl's address (listed in previous journal entries).
Next update soon!
