Jayla's Prayer Warriors,

Jayla had her surgery this morning and everything went well. She was very brave and they removed her hemo catheter.

She had quite the time coming out of anesthesia, as she was reintroduced to some of the medications she had just gotten out of her system. The strong medicines she has just been weaned off of. Slowly but surely, she started feeling better and was ready to eat lunch. ;)

Physical therapy and occupational therapy teams had sessions with her and she was very willing to get right in there and do all that they asked, even though it was just 2-3 hours after her procedure.

So....instead of typing this from the glow of the hospital monitors and the sounds of a busy hospital, our doctors decided to discharge us from the hospital this evening! Yes, we are HOME! It has been so long since we have been home. We said our goodbyes at the hospital, as everyone loved to see Jayla and her orneriness and beautiful smile.

Jayla will not be going back to school right away. We have to let her body recover. Her immune system is weak and we need to protect her from any illnesses. Any sickness could be very difficult and we don't want to take any chances.

I will continue to update this post as we try to get back into life here again.

Thank you so much for your prayers today. We feel that God has been hearing our prayers and we are so glad that sweet Jayla is feeling better. It has been a big day and a long ride home for her. She had her first breath of fresh air in quite a while, outside of the hospital on the way to get our vehicle, and she was so happy.

It's hard to believe that Jayla would be released on the same day as her procedure, but she is so tough and could not wait to get back home. And she does not complain. Tough, she is so tough.

Have a good one guys, and thank you for thinking of Jayla. She's so happy to be back in her own bed tonight. 😉 #JaylaStrong 💪💁
