Mom is back at Leah's house and just had her 7th chemo and is due for an 8th chemo on February 26.[...]
Mom is still inpatient, with talk of her going home today. Yesterday, we watched the Macy's parade and the National Dog Show. A musician came by and serenaded her. She ate Thanksgiving dinner early, nibbled on lamb, sweet potato casserole and tomato soup. Oh, she also ate pumpkin pie, but not the crust. Late last night she showered and changed out of the hospital gown into her pajamas. She got a new hat that matched her pjs! The hats are made by volunteers for the patients who lose their hair from treatment. This morning she's having breakfast. The goal is to get her up and walking more. Because of the surgery, it's hard for her to laugh, cough, even blow her nose without her stomach hurting. She's doing great, everyone is so impressed with her progress.
Mom says to let you know she is doing well. She is adjusting to everything. Seeing the Mind/Body therapist was helpful for her in terms of understanding what she is going through. They gave her a CD to listen to with 3 sections: Meditation, Chemo, Surgery - and she finds it helpful.[...]
