Green City...

Today was another beautiful day in Chicago and another great day for Luke! We finally were able to make it to the Green City Market and it did not disappoint. Our friend Cari even came along.

Luke first chose some pears, cranberries and Concord grapes from Ellis Family Farms then headed over to see Ryan at Gotta B Crepes. We split some fall frenzy crepes and some pumpkin apple crumble crepes. They were delicious! I had sent Ryan a Facebook message letting him know how much Luke enjoys his crepes and how thankful we are these days to find food that he'll eat. Ryan surprised us with some crepes to take home to freeze and have available for Luke anytime. So sweet! Yet another kind gesture to add to the list of things large and small that people have done for Luke and our family.

We ran into two ministers from our church who had decided to go after reading about it here. They treated us to brunch, and we all hung out together as we ate. We all now know how to make the raspberry sauce that was on the pumpkin apple crepe. Luke kept going back for more sauce, and Ryan called his wife to get the recipe for Luke. We might start putting it on all sorts of things around here!

We took a few laps and bought some more produce, some eggs and some flowers. Luke was fascinated by the "brain flowers" and picked some out to bring home. He'll get to taste Cari's market fresh cauliflower chowder tomorrow.

Timo's visit is going well so far!

Thank you all again for everything.

I need to put the Green City Market on my list of things to do too. However, I feel like it might not be the same experience without the enthusiasm that Luke brings to each vendor. You two should have your own food make everything sound so delicious! I don't even like Raspberry sauce, and you make me want the recipe:-) I am so happy that Luke is having some great days! As always, thinking and praying for Luke and your family.
