Final post: Tumbledown Hike on Saturday, September 3rd

To Margaret’s friends and extended family: This website has functioned well to connect Margaret and Tim’s friends during the time of her illness and passing. It has fulfilled its intended purpose, and I am writing the final messages today.  This Saturday, September 3rd, is the day chosen for a friends and family hike up to Tumbledown Pond in honor of Margaret. Tim asked that you contact him by calling his cell at 207,809,9735 by Friday if you want to come. This is the final post on this website. Thank you again for all your support.[...]

Margaret's namesake: Mary-Margaret Pearson

Margaret’s youngest brother Pete and his wife Erika have chosen to honor both Margaret and Margaret’s Mom, Mary, in the naming of their newest baby. If you’d like to know more of the story, excerpts from Pete’s letter to family are posted below, with Pete’s permission. A week has passed...

It's been a week since the Memorial Service, a week immersed in work with very little time to reflect. For some, the services may provide some kind of closure; for others, it's just the beginning of coming to terms with Margaret's absence. At this point, it doesn't seem real--maybe I'll wake up and find that the last 10 weeks didn't happen. A couple of other family members have expressed a similar sense of unreality. Apparently that's normal. Getting used to the new reality is going to take some time. Part of that process will be a few more posthope updates.[...]

Honoring God with our lives, a powerful verse, song, testimony

I've been having a hard time dealing with God, I'm angry because he took Margaret away. But we had seven great years and in her dying I see God working. It's unmistakable, so I have to yield to his will. I love you Margaret! This post is coming a few days after the memorial service, and contains a powerful verse and song for you that impacted my day tremendously so that I had to post it.[...]

Margaret as teacher (from students)

As I looked through the cards Margaret and Tim received this weekend, and reviewed posts on this site, I was moved by the comments about Margaret's impact as a teacher. The comments below are some of those she has received from her former students, most of whom had her as a 4th grade teacher, and some of whom have now graduated from high school or college. I've removed identifiers to respect the privacy of those who sent personal messages. I know that she received many more via email and facebook posts.[...]

Margaret is with the Lord.

Dear family and friends,

Tim has asked me to let you know that Margaret has left this world, and to post the information that will appear in the Sunday paper.  We rejoice for her, and grieve for ourselves, and are sure that many will join us in doing so. Please see the additional note at the end.[...]

Hello friends, thank you for your warm responses. It is heartening to see how many have arrived.

They tell us that hearing is the last sense to go, so we have been talking and reading messages to Margaret.[...]
