sitting together in church
On August 1 we will have been married 57 years! For almost all that time we have been unable to sit together in church. There were the years of pastoral ministry, and after that, choir voices kept us apart. Altos and tenors just don’t sit together! So this past Sunday it was very special to realize that for the past 3 months we have sat next to each other for “TV church”. These are memorable days as we talk and reminisce about God’s blessings on us over the years.
We have been overwhelmed and humbled by the steady arrival of cards and notes saying you are praying. In a unique way you are our ‘caregivers’! One that came this morning had this reassuring word, “When you opened your eyes this morning, God had already taken care of every unfolding detail in your day.”
One of Jim’s little irritations recently has been dealing with the local pharmacy (not the SP Pharmacy) which insists on delaying needed scripts. One item was down to half a day’s supply and Jim was preparing to “go to war” over the delay. So imagine the joy in discovering at the door of our condo at noon today, a supply of that same item – I think from Hospice! So, as the card said, “God had already taken care of every unfolding detail….”

Betty Mitchell went to be with the Lord a couple weeks ago and Cherlyn asked me to do the meditation and suggested the use of Psa. 73:23-38. I do know that the Lord is 'holding you both' and do know many of us wish were were where you are so youcould feel our love and concern--I rather gather as I look over what we have written but it is good also so be close. Love and concern, Grace
We appreciated hearing about the prescription arriving at your door. How sweet are those times when God just taps us on the shoulder to remind us He is there and He cares about every detail in your lives. We are continuing to pray for you and are sending our love, Norma and Duane
Thankful for the update and the assurance that if God sees the sparrow fall and numbers the hairs of our head - He can surely be trusted to see that medications arrive on time! " Blessed be the Name of the Lord !"
Love that you are counting your blessings and enjoying sitting together in church!
Jim, you are pastoring us as you care for Marion. Your description of finally getting to sit with Marian in "church" after years of ministry induced separation was priceless. Thank you for touching our hearts by giving us a glimpse of yours.
Dear Marian and Jim, I thought of you when I heard this song on the radio in the car today. May it bless your hearts. "Faithful" by Hawk Nelson Dotty https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8kPKTwzrAn8
