I am thankful for everyone’s prayers and support. Now nearing the end of the cycle-two Ibrance pills, I truly feel quite good with less fatigue. There are really no new side effects either. My taste buds are returning, my hair is actually beginning to grow back as little fuzz and, as a result of physical therapy, balance is also slowly improving. All this is happening at a snail’s pace, but it is happening! Monday, I begin the week of no-Ibrance, just the on-going Aromasin, for days 22 -28.
We saw Nidia at the 15-day checkup this past Tuesday, and, although the white blood count had fallen further by .5 and remains in the low range, she and Dr. Herrada looked at other counts and decided not to make any changes in dosage at this time. The low WBC is a normal effect of Ibrance. Caution around crowds is still necessary – that is where the mask comes in. Because my body has really minimal disease fighting strength, I also cannot get a flu shot this year.
Jim and local friends see minor movement returning to the right side of my face which has the Bell’s Palsy. Healing takes time and patience. I can go for several hours during the day now without the eye tearing before he applies a patch which offers comfort.
