Home at last!

Thank you for all your prayers and well wishes during the time we were gone.  We feel loved!

We left Sanoviv with mixed feelings.  Sad to be leaving that wonderful healing environment, but glad to get back home to our pile of mail and well fed (thanks Leslie!), but less than happy cat.  We are encouraged by Mike's progress and hopeful that he has turned a corner in his treatment.  There is still a long way to go, but Mike is miles ahead of where he was just 3 weeks ago.  His stamina and strength have increased dramatically, and even though building back muscle mass will take time and effort, he was able to navigate a day of travel with security mishaps and long waits with no issues.  (Two weeks before when we traveled, he needed a wheelchair in the airports and a walker for our first few days at the facility.)  Today has been a less than great day for many reasons, but not anything like his bad days before we went!  On his good days, he says he feels better than he has in 6 months.  His immune and nervous systems will probably be doing some pendulum swinging for a few weeks, so lots of ups and downs are ahead of us.  The aftercare program lasts 6 months and we will be following the Dr.'s recommendations during that time with ongoing treatments and medications.  His next blood test will be in 8 weeks, so we will know more about how his immune system responded to treatment then.  We will keep you posted when we know something more.  For those of you that haven't seen the photo album that I kept of our time at Sanoviv, here is the link: https://photos.google.com/u/1/share/AF1QipOMPd3D8Dvt6clCHMAyIJoucNez9Gnvs5ks12zCopOXPYebVLO5qIfoYNyAzsYYgw?key=VlN1RGNycENMYlFYdlQxdThJcWJZYWNIZ1d3TTZ3
