It’s been a quiet week here online because luckily, it’s been a quiet week at home. Nancy, with daughter Jax at her side, bravely took on chemo again on Wednesday, and all went as planned. Steroids are given with chemo every week and they’ve worked spectacularly to keep Nancy’s mood high for a few days post-chemo. It’s slightly more difficult to remain confident and light-hearted at the tail end of the week as the chemo reacts with her body, but all the lovely people in our lives who have come to the house to help and who have sent good reads and good eats have helped to keep the clouds away.
Testing is done before chemo is administered each Wednesday, and though there’s still a ways to go we are delighted by the success the chemo has had thus far; Nancy’s cancer antigen 125 levels have decreased sufficiently since she was first diagnosed. These results have also seen better magnesium levels and an increasingly more standard metabolic panel.
Over this past week Nancy has returned to work with her clients nearly full time and has biked nearly every day this week! The weekend included a night out with the family to see a show at the Academy, and a sailing outing with the Pillings. As you’ll see in the pictures Nancy’s new blonde wig has arrived (as chosen at the Wig Party), and she looks absolutely gorgeous as a blonde!
As always, thank you to everyone who is helping at the house and in their hearts, you all play a very important role in Nancy’s journey. Here’s to what we hope will be another week of successes!
