It was wonderful to be with you this weekend. You, as always, are keeping up the good fight with grace, steadiness, and your generous spirit. Much much love and healing power coming your way from Vermont.

Dear Beth,

It was wonderful to see all of the pictures John posted of you and your family. Lots of smiles and hugs.

Recently I was thinking about how you and I had lost touch and then reconnected after many years. We were at an opening at The Salty Dog Gallery and we looked at each other and both said "I know you!" I feel lucky that we bumped into each other that day and that we have seen each other almost every summer since then. Its clear from the postings that you have many, many friends and how blessed you are to have their support and love!

Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Beth,
From the beginning, Chestnut Hill days thru the years, it has been a joy to create beautiful homes for you and your family. Your passion for beauty inside and out filled me with vast opportunities to grow and I love our creative time together. I have always felt a deep shared design sisterhood with you. It is my hope that Seawall Point envelopes you with the love and glory of all that surrounds you.
Sending so much love to you, to John and to your family.

Beth, what lovely photos of you and your family! You and your family are such wonderful examples of love, support, and life in the midst hard circumstances---and thus teach us all so much. Thinking of you and sending loving thoughts.

Dear Beth, I cannot think of Spannocchia without thinking of you! That sparkling place and time in the magical land of Tuscany where we found support and friendship while making art with Sabra. I'm so glad to have met you and gotten to know you; I only wish our paths could cross more often. Sending you love and light on your difficult journey, eased somewhat, I hope, by your devoted family and friends. But know that you have a cheering squad in Philadelphia, always hoping and praying for a cure. With love, Marie (and Steve!)

Hi Beth and John! I hope Spring has come to Maine and you can spend some time enjoying some beautiful weather and sites. I was going through my pictures the other day and saw pics of when we were all in Sicily with Judy. I have a great picture of all of us with hairnets on touring the chocolate company which is hilarious! I also remember what great wine connoisseurs you both were selecting some wonderful wine for our dinners out. As I recall, all of us weren't hesitant to drink it all up so we could order more! Great trip for all of us! Take good care of yourselves, be safe and enjoy some good weather! Your pics of your place look beautiful so hopefully you can enjoy the outdoors! We've had some beautiful weather in Boulder but it snowed yesterday! Lots of hugs and good thoughts your way!!! Barb

Beth- John and I were watching our home movies the other night. We are getting them in order to digitize them. There you were with Stuart, about age 2, at our kitchen table at Fox Hill Farm. He was adorable talking into the microphone! You and I looked so young ourselves! It brought back many happy memories of our times together with the boys. I loved seeing the recent photos of Stuart and Andrew with you. Such handsome men! John and I send you and your John our love!

Hi Beth,
I was thinking about when were in B-School. You invited Ann and I over for dinner at the little house in Harvard Square. At the last minute, my father came up to Boston and, of course, being your gracious self, you extended the invitation to him. Now my father was not a sophisticated man. He ran a gas station in Brooklyn. At your dinner table, he was a little confused. You laid out dessert silverware above the plate horizontally, salad came before dessert, etc. He noticed the silverware (fork and spoon) at the top of the plate horizontally. He figured you messed it up so he straightened out everyone’s silverware. You noticed, but never said anything. You couldn’t have been more welcoming to him. I'll never forgot it.

Dear Bethy,
I cannot remember a time in my life when we were not friends. We go so very far back. I know that closeness was initially inspired and supported by the close bond between your mother and my parents; but it is so far, far beyond that. Playing together as infants, attending nursery school and 1st grade together, and then again 6th, 7th and 8th. You even came as my date for a whole weekend when I was at school on Catalina Island! You will never know how much my esteem was raised in front of the whole school at that: you were so adorable! Our lives have overlapped many times since. After we moved to Maine 36 years ago, you would sometimes drop by to see us on your way to or from visiting your mother in Seawall; or we would see you there when we visited her. You spend skiing vacations in Jackson Hole so near our ranch and we’ve overlapped there. And then we ended up in a house in Ojai where you spent much of your teenage years when it was owned by the family of Picket Post, your best friend! In such a large and complex world, our lives have always intertwined.
I value your friendship more than I can say — and admire you deeply as an intelligent, witty, intensely creative, warm and thoughtful woman. My admiration is enhanced in the knowledge that you now have John as your constant and loving companion. Between him, Dorrit and George, your sons and your amazing community, you are surrounded by the love you so richly deserve.
Please know that I am here for you, whether it is in Ojai just several hundred yards from your childhood home where we used to play, or in Camden, not far from your present home in Seawall. Hi joins me in sending love…

Dear Beth,
My thanks to John for the update. Your strength and courage are so inspiring.
Two Roxbury Latin boys just returned from the National Independent School Wrestling Tournament in PA and I couldn't help but be reminded of our trip back in 2001. You and I drove in that snow storm with Steve Ward, Andrew, JJ, JP Jacquet and Steve Hollister. It took us so long the boys barely made it to "weigh in" and then we had to order them food at the bar because everything else was closed. It was a crazy fun trip and I remember it fondly. I remember so many wonderful hours we shared watching our boys wrestle. So many beautiful friendships formed.
I think of you often and send my love.
