Paul Rime

In the early 70's, while serving in the United States Army, Paul contracted Hepatitis C. The virus was dormant until the early 90's. Upon learning of the Hepatitis C, Paul was awarded service connected disability by the Veteran's Administration. He began attending the Veteran's hospital in St. Paul. He was under doctors care there until October of 2013. The Veteran's Hospital attempted two courses of different treatments to eliminate the Hepatitis C virus but were unsuccessful. He was then told that he had to go to either Pittsburgh or Houston for a liver transplant. Upon this news his family researched alternative options and decided that the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota was the best option. He began attending the Mayo Clinic
